Magandang Umaga South Central Mindanao (English: Good Morning South Central Mindanao; Cebuano: Maayong Buntag South Central Mindanao) is the regional morning news and talk show of ABS-CBN General Santos that dishes out the daily dose of fresh news, upbeat discussions of the current community affairs and special features teeming with the local flavors of General Santos and surrounding provinces in the Soccsksargen region. It is hosted by Rhyndyll Bartolaba, Joey John Conception, Jay Dayupay, Betina Cabacos, Gerry, Jasper Acosta, Rean Hacosta and Agnes Salada. It airs from 6:15am–7:15am on ABS-CBN Channel 3 in General Santos, ABS-CBN Channel 24 in Koronadal City, ABS-CBN Channel 4 in Kidapawan City and ABS-CBN Channel 5 in Cotabato City.
History
As Magandang Umaga Socsksargen (2006-2010)
From June 19, 2006 to July 30, 2010, the local morning show offering of ABS-CBN TV-3 General Santos, provided viewers with a wide array of information and entertainment. The program featured topics that were timely, vital and of public interest. MUS showcased the different events, destinations and culture and arts in South Central Mindanao; successful micro, small and medium entrepreneurs in the region; and ordinary Mindanaoans with extraordinary talents and stories. Furthermore, MUS has become the partner of all Kapamilyas in achieving a healthy lifestyle by providing the viewers with fitness tips and info on important health issues.[1]
As Magandang Umaga South Central Mindanao (2010-present)
August 2, 2010 marks another milestone for ABS-CBN Gensan’s local morning show. On its fourth year of providing information and entertainment to the region, MUS was formally re-launched as Magandang Umaga South Central Mindanao. Dubbed as “Bagong Mukha ng Umaga”, MUS is now broadcast over Sultan Kudarat, South Cotabato and Sarangani, and the cities of General Santos, Koronadal and Tacurong; and for Central Mindanao area, the cities of Cotabato and Kidapawan and the provinces of Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur and North Cotabato. It launched new informative and entertaining segments to showcase Mindanaoan pride, and present stories of hope to encourage every viewer to take part in effecting positive change within South Central Mindanao.[2]
