Madhyadesa
Madhyadesa was a historic region of India comprising the upper and middle Gangetic basin and the Yamuna Chambal catchment area.
History
During the major part of 10th Century and the first half of 11th Century (~925 CE to 1050 CE), Madhyadesa was torn by rival ambitions of Indian rulers and endangered by invasions from outside. This resulted in a massive political instability due to which Brahmins migrated out of Mahdhyadesha towards Odisha.
