Madhosinghana

Madhosinghana is a village in Sirsa district, Haryana, India. The population of the village is more than 11000. It is situated on the state highway 23 from Sirsa to Mallekan to Ellenabad. It is around 15 km away from Sirsa. This village is one of the most developed villages of Sirsa district. This village has a 132 MW power house, providing almost round-the-clock power.

Politics

In March 1938, Ch. Sahab Ram, the elder brother of Tau Devi Lal fought a by-election for Member of the Legislative Assembly on the Congress party ticket against Mr Nand Lal Bhambhu (better known as Jaildaar or Rai Sahib) of village Madhosinghana. At that time, Bhambhu owned around 8000 bighas of land. Mr Nand ram won the elections.

Gurudwara, Temple and Masjid

Madhosinghana has a grand Gurudwara. It is told that once Guru Gobind Singh Ji stopped here to drench his thirst while fighting with the enemy. The village has a large Temple of God Shiv named as Shivalya in the middle of the village and on the bank of Pond. This is a very old temple and much popular among nearby villages. The village has a masjid as well. At the time of partition, people of Madhosinghana gave shelter to the Muslim families in their houses. The religious harmony in the village is such that Hindus of the village give donations for Gurudwara and Masjid and Muslims of the village give donations for Gaushala.

1. Gramin Pragati Sr. Sec. School, Madhosinghana

Arguably, the first privately owned school in rural areas of Sirsa district was founded in Madhosinghana. This school was earlier known as Gramin Pragati Model School, Madhosinghana (GPM School) and was founded by Mr Baldev Dhayal (topper of erstwhile Hisar District in 5th class), an alumnus of the Government Polytechnic College, Sirsa in 1983. At present, more than 800 students study in this school, who come from more than 15 villages in its neighbourhood, including Mallekan, Mangala, Shahidanwali, ModiaKhera, Jamal, GudiaKhera, Dhukra, Bakrianwali, Chauburza, Dhani Kahan Singh, Kalu Wali Dhani, Shahidanwali, and Natar. Mr Baldev Dhayal is also the man behind Small Scale Cooperative CDM Pilot Project Activity on Private Lands affected by shifting sand-dunes in Sirsa, Haryana. He is serving as the president of Vriksh Kisan Smiti, Ellenabad. He got an award from Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hudda, for his efforts in making CDM project successful on 5 June 2011, the World Environment Day. He was also nominated for Indira Priyadarshini Vrikshamitra Award in the year 2011. Indira Priyadarshini Vrikshamitra Awards are given to individuals and institutions who have done pioneering and exemplary work in the field of afforestation and wasteland development.


Vikram Dhayal and Pawan Kamboj(Chauburja), alumni of Gramin Pragati Sr. Sec. School have already passed out from IIT Delhi. Mandeep Kasnia from village Bakrianwali, an alumnus of the school has completed B.Tech. from IIT Jodhpur. Mukesh, an alumnus of the school is currently studying in Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Mohali. Pawan Kamboj is now serving as an IRS officer.


Miss Neeru Priya D/o Mr Gopal Krishan, a student( Non-medical stream) of Gramin Pragati Sr. Sec. School, Madhosinghana secured 3rd Rank in the whole district by scoring 475 out of 500 in senior secondary Examination. She had secured the first rank in the whole district in the first-semester exam. She is a resident of village Mangala and after completing her B.Tech. in Computer Engineering, NIT Kurukshetra, she has been working as a software engineer.

Anoop Poonia S/o Sh. Ranjeet Poonia, an alumnus of Gramin Pragati Sr. Sec. School, Madhosinghana scored highest marks in the district in 12th class board exams and qualified the NDA entrance exam twice. He has been pursuing his B.Tech. in ECE from MNNIT, Allahabad ( the best NIT of north India).

2. Saraswati Vidya Mandir School, Madhosinghana

This school is near Laxmangarh, and it has more than 600 students studying in it. This school also offers education up to 12th class in Science, Commerce and Arts stream. Vijayvardhan, an alumnus of this school has qualified preliminary exam of civil services 4 times, and mains exam for Civil services once.
