The coorg torrent hawk,[2] (Macromia ellisoni) is a species of dragonfly in the family Macromiidae. It is a rare and endemic dragonfly and found only in Western Ghats in South India.[1][2]

The species is restricted to the streams flowing through evergreen forests. Patrolling males and ovipositing females are highly territorial and come back to same locality again and again.[1][3][4][2]
