Macherio is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Monza and Brianza in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 20 kilometres (12 mi) northeast of Milan. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 6,751 and an area of 3.2 square kilometres (1.2 sq mi).[1]
The municipality of Macherio contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Bareggia, Pedresse, and Belvedere.
Macherio borders the following municipalities: Triuggio, Lesmo, Sovico, Biassono, Lissone.
