Macey Estrella[4] (born March 24, 1990) is an American professional wrestler currently signed to WWE, where she performs on their developmental territory NXT, under the ring name Lacey Evans.[5]

Professional wrestling career

Independent circuit (2014–2015)

Estrella trained under Tom Caiazzo at the American Premier Wrestling training facility in Statesboro, Georgia.[6] She made her debut for the promotion in 2014, later winning the company's World Heavyweight Championship.[2]

WWE

NXT (2016–present)

On April 12, 2016, it was announced that Evans had been signed to a WWE contract.[6] She made her debut at an NXT live event on October 20, 2016 in a battle royal, which was ultimately won by Ember Moon.[7] On November 17, Estrella made her singles debut at the WrestleMania 33 Ticket Party, doing so as a villainess in a losing effort against Sarah Bridges.[8]

On the January 11, 2017 episode of NXT, Estrella competed in her first televised match alongside Sarah Bridges, in a losing effort against the team of Billie Kay and Peyton Royce.[1][9] She returned on the March 15 episode under her real name, where she was defeated by Nikki Cross.[10] On the May 3 episode of NXT, Evans competed in a women's battle royal under the ring name Lacey Evans, in which she was eliminated by Kay and Royce.[11] Two weeks later on NXT, she was defeated by Sonya Deville in singles competition.[12]

On June 16, Evans was announced as one of the first four participants competing in the Mae Young Classic.[13] Evans entered the tournament on July 13, defeating Taynara Conti in the first round.[14] The following day, Evans was eliminated from the tournament in the second round by Toni Storm.[15]

Personal life

Estrella is a former U.S. Marine and member of the Marine Corps SWAT team.[16] She is married, with a four year-old daughter, named Summer.[3]
