The Lynchburg Hornets are the athletic teams that represent Lynchburg College, located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in NCAA Division III intercollegiate sports. They compete as a full, non-football members of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC). In fact, Lynchburg was a founding member of the ODAC in 1976. Altogether, Lynchburg sponsors 19 sports: 8 for men, 9 for women, and 2 co-ed. The Hornets have recorded 148 conference titles since joining the ODAC.

Field Hockey
In 2011, the Hornet Field Hockey team captured the ODAC Championship title but lost in the NCAA tournament.
Football
Lynchburg College fielded a football team from 1917 to 1932, when it was disbanded due to financial constraints associated with the Great Depression.[1]
Soccer
In 2010 the unranked Hornet men’s soccer team made it the NCAA Division III national championship game, before losing to Messiah College.
On December 6, 2014, Lynchburg College's Women's Soccer team claimed the College's first ever national championship by defeating Williams College 0-0 on penalty kicks (4-3). In 2011, the women's soccer won the ODAC but fell in the NCAA tournament.
