Luis Espinal Higher Institute of Philosophy and Humanities (Instituto Superior de Filosofía y Humanidades "Luis Espinal") is a Jesuit-run university in Cochabamba, Bolivia.

History

The Institute is named after Luís Espinal Camps, a Jesuit priest, poet, educator, and social justice activist who was assassinated by the Bolivian military in 1980. It is a member of the Association of Universities Entrusted to the Society of Jesus in Latin America (AUSJAL).[5]

Productions of the Institute include books on internal migrations in Bolivia[6] and on The Future of Democracy in Bolivia;[7] a lecture on "Live Anarchically: Community in Anarchism Today,[8] a series on the works of Clarice Lispector,[9] and a symposium on The Plurinational Community State.[10]

The director has made presentations for Vatican Radio.[11]
