Characters

Geet: Born and brought up in Bhatinda, she is a lively girl who believes in living life to the fullest and making the most of it. She lives in a big joint family that consists of the most loving and caring people who pamper her to no end. She loves to talk and can go on for hours without getting tired. She is also a highly persuasive girl and will not rest until she gets what she wants. She is passionate about fashion.

Rahul: Rahul is a broken hearted scion of an industrialist family who is escaping from life itself

Roop: She is like Geet's alter ego. She is less beautiful and fashionable than Geet but is more intelligent. She is like Geet's conscience. She is her unwilling partner in crime – unwilling because every time Geet launches into one of her grand schemes, Roop provides the voice of reason. She is not as risk taking as Geet but is her best friend. Both of them share their secrets with each other. She also saves Geet numerous times from Darji's ire by looking out for her.

Darji: He is an authoritarian who dotes on Geet. He is a traditional person who believes that girls must be homely. He is also a proud patriarch and when he is challenged by Manju's grandfather about the upbringing he has given to his children, allows Geet to go to Mumbai, despite his initial protests, to disprove him.

Geet's mother: She is a typical Punjabi mother who is always concerned about the welfare of her family and children. She is lesser educated than her husband and is also more traditional than him. She is not an outspoken person and generally bows down to authority (Darji). She allows her love for her children to get the better of herself in situations. She is someone who is easy to please. Geet and she share a typical mother daughter relationship which is based on love and trust but also has its share of disagreements.

Geet's father: Geet's father is a well-educated person. He wanted to go out of Bhatinda to pursue his dreams but did not because of Darji. Unlike the rest of his loud family, he is a very calm person. He is seen spending a lot of time in his study reading books and listening to Ghazals. He does not differentiate between his son and daughter and wants Geet to realize her dreams.

Somewhere he feels that Geet should be able to lead life on her own terms (something which he could not). He encourages his children to study. Geet has a loving relationship with her father but takes advantage of his insecurity into getting him to agree to let her go to Mumbai. Later when she decides to get married to the person of her choice, while her father initially opposes it, he accepts him because of his love for his daughter.
