Lousehill Copse
Lousehill Copse is a Local nature reserve in Tilehurst.[1] The nature reserve is under the management of the Reading Borough Council.[2] Along with Blundells Copse & McIlroy Park it is part of West Reading Woodlands.[2]
Geography and site
The site is 13.03 hectares in size.[1] The site is natural mature woodland surrounded by housing. The site is split by Dee Road and the northern section, which is known as Comparts Plantation, is a grassy meadow area.[3] The site also features a pond.[4]
History
The ancient Woodland has been dated back to over 300 years ago.[5]
In 1992 site was designated a Local Nature Reserve.[2]
