Lost Creek (St. Francis River)
Lost Creek is a stream in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Missouri.[1] It is a tributary of the St. Francis River.
The stream headwaters are at 37°01′05″N 90°18′25″W / 37.01806°N 90.30694°W and the confluence with the St. Francis River is at 36°59′04″N 90°20′10″W / 36.98444°N 90.33611°WCoordinates: 36°59′04″N 90°20′10″W / 36.98444°N 90.33611°W.[1]
Some say Lost Creek was so named on account of its status as a losing stream, while others believe a pioneer incident in which a man became lost near its course caused the name to be selected.[2]
