London Designer Outlet is a shopping centre in Wembley Park, London. The centre officially opened on 24 October 2013 as part of the 87-acre Wembley Park Redevelopment project.[3] The development cost £65 million and was located next to Wembley Stadium. The retail space of the shopping centre is 350,000 sq ft.[4]
London Designer Outletwas created to anchor Wembley Park’s placemaking strategy and kick-start the site’s transformation into a living destination worth visiting every day. Unusually for a large-scale redevelopment, the retail and leisure element led the scheme, rather than residential.
Retail Area
The Outlet Centre consists of 350,000 sq ft which houses over 80 stores across 3 floors.[5] Along with this the Outlet Centre also has space for popup stores and event space which is used during seasonal time periods. The Outlet Centre has over 80 stores and 20 restaurants and coffee shops providing 2,000 covers and a 9-screen, 1,800 seat Cineworld cinema. BREEAM Retail gave it a ‘Very Good’ rating as well as a ‘Very Positive’ on Brent’s Sustainable Development Checklist.[6]
