This is a list of people who have or had paraplegia.
- Deng Pufang, Chinese politician, son of Deng Xiaoping[1]
- Daniel Dias, a Brazilian Paralympic swimmer.
- John Porter East, US politician who was partially paralyzed by polio in 1955[2]

It was a stormy day in Colombo and Perera was sitting in his car on 12 November 1992 when nature intervened. A big wayside tree crashed against the car, killing the driver and instantly rendering Perera a paraplegic for life.
