List of mountains in Albania
Albania is a small predominantly mountainous country between Southern and Southeastern Europe, facing the Adriatic and Ionian seas within the Mediterranean sea. With an average elevation of 708 metres (2,323 ft) above sea level, Albania is one of the most mountainous countries in the world. It has a mountainous terrain that covers more than 70% of its total territory. There are many peaks reaching heights of more than 2,000 metres (6,600 ft).
The highest summit is Korab 2,764 metres (9,068 ft) on the border with the Republic of Macedonia. It is one of only two summits in Europe, which are the highest point for more than one country.[1]. It is also the 18th most prominent mountain peak in Europe.[2] The most notable topographical features are the Ceraunian Mountains, Dinaric Alps, Korabs and the Pindus mountains.[3]
