Lin Tan (Traditional Chinese: 谭琳, Tan Lin, born in Hunan Province of China), is a New York City based well-known Chinese TV presenter, News Anchorwoman, and producer.

Overview

Lin Tan, who is the Chief Anchor of New York City based Sinovision, is the most influential Chinese TV host in the United States. Over the years, she had reported a number of important news events and interviewed numerous famous personalities. As the face of Sinovision, her pictures and program's schedule are published daily and weekly in noted Chinese newspapers in the U.S, including the China Press and The Sino American Times. She was featured in the CCTV program "Chinese World" 华人世界 as "One of the most influential overseas Chinese in the world".

Early career in Beijing

Lin graduated from Communication University of China “中国传媒大学“, the foremost media university in China. While attending college, she interned at the most famous news program (Oriental Horizon) on CCTV at the time. After graduation, She quickly became the host for the most popular fashion TV program on Beijing TV Station (BTV) at the time, “Charm Frontline”, when she was only 20 years old. Lin hosted many other programs and events, include: “International Fashion Show” of SURUI Fashion Media, “Fashion Follow Me” of Tang Long International Media Company, “Beauty of China” of Si Chuan Province TV Station, “Healthy Fashion” of Education TV of China, “Charm Frontline” of Beijing TV Station, “Netease Celebrities Talk Show” of NetEase, etc.

New York City

Lin moved to New York City in 2007 to pursue a master's degree in TV and Film Production at New York Institute of Technology. She graduated from the school in 2011. She joined SinoVision shortly after moving to New York City, and quickly became its Chief News Anchorwoman.

Starting in Aug 2012, Lin took over the helm as the host and co-producer for the Sinovision flagship celebrity interview show New York Lounge. A small sample of the guests featured on her show included pianist Lang Lang, artist Cai Guoqiang, former Secretary of Labor Elaine Chow, former HP Vice-Chair Yang Xuelan, actors Donnie Yen and Zhao Wei, director Zhang He, TV presenter Yang Lan, as well as many other world-renowned Chinese and American celebrities and successful personalities. New York Lounge has since been lauded as the most well-known and influential Chinese language TV show produced outside of Asia. Additionally, Lin is a successful TV programs producer who wrote, produced, and edited a number of widely recognized TV personality shows, such as Dr. David Ho, Dr. Henry Lee, Trump family, and Super Model Lv Yan etc. She also produced several popular Chinese community culture series, including Chinese Operas Assemble in New York, Cultures of China, and Festival of Spring. Those shows received wide acclaims and positive feedbacks.
