Liège's pedestrian zone is the biggest pedestrian zone of the Walloon Region and the Meuse-Rhine Euroregion,[1] it is also the oldest in Belgium. Since 1965, the pedestrian zone progressively grew to contain the majority of the hypercentre of Liège. it continues to grow today with the additon of the rue de la Casquette on the 12th of December 2014.[2]
