Liar is an upcoming six-part thriller miniseries created by brothers Harry and Jack Williams, and co-produced by SundanceTV and ITV.[2] The series stars Joanne Froggatt and Ioan Gruffudd, and is scheduled to debut on ITV in autumn 2017.[3]
Synopsis
The series follows Laura Newell and Andrew Ellis, whose initial attraction leads to a date that has far-reaching consequences on the couple and their friends and families, as secrets and lies are revealed.[1]
Cast and characters
- Joanne Froggatt as Laura Newell, a smart and dedicated teacher who just got out of a relationship.[1]
- Ioan Gruffudd as Andrew Ellis, a renowned surgeon whose son is a student at Laura's school.[1]
Production
Liar was announced on 15 April 2016 as the first full production from Two Brothers Pictures.[4] On 30 September 2016, the miniseries was commissioned by American cable network SundanceTV and British commercial broadcaster ITV.[2] Commercial broadcasters TF1[5] and Seven[6] have also ordered the series.
Filming for the series began in London and Kent in November 2016.[1]
