Lianjiang (postal: Limkong; Chinese: 廉江) is a county-level city in the municipal region of Zhanjiang, Guangdong.
Lianjiang lies in the north of the Leizhou Peninsula and faces Beibu Gulf to the southwest. The city is bordered on the east by Maoming Municipality (茂名市); on the south by Wuchuan City (吴川市), Potou District (坡头区) and Suixi County (遂溪县), all in Zhanjiang; on the west by Anpugang Harbour (安铺港, part of the Gulf of Tonkin) and Beihai, in Guangxi Province; and on the north by Yulin. The city lies 48 kilometers north of the city of Zhanjiang.
Administration
The city executive, legislature and judiciary are in Liancheng Town (廉城镇), together with the CPC and PSB branches.
Education
By the end of 2009 there are 577 schools, colleges and universities in Lianjiang with 312,000 students.
Tertiary education institutions include the Zhangjiang Modern Science and Technology University and Guangdong Institute of Arts and Sciences.
