Liam Blanchfield (born 1996) is an Irish hurler who plays as a left wing-forward for the Kilkenny senior team.
Born in Bennettsbridge, County Kilkenny, Blanchfield first played competitive hurling during his schooling at St. Kieran's College. He won back-to-back All-Ireland medals with the college in 2014 and 2015, acting as vice-captain of the team for the latter success. Blanchfield had earlier tasted success with the Benenttsbridge minor team, winning a county championship medal as a fourteen-year-old in 2011. Three years later he was a key member of the full-forward line on the Bennettsbridge team that claimed the county junior championship before later winning the Leinster and All-Ireland titles. Blanchfield won a county intermediate championship medal in 2015, before later claiming Leinster and All-Ireland medals.
Blanchfield made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he first played for the Kilkenny minor team. He won back-to-back Leinster medals in this grade before winning an All-Ireland medal in 2014. He subsequently joined the Kilkenny under-21 team. Blanchfield made his senior debut for Kilkenny during the 2016 league.[1] He has since gone on to win one Leinster medal.
