Lee Hein

Lee Hein (born 13 March 1960) is a member of the Iowa House of Representatives.

Hein was born in Monticello, Iowa. He studied at Iowa State University before taking up farming.

Hein was first elected to the legislature in 2010.

Voting Accessibility

During the 2017 legislative session, Hein voted[1] to shorten both the amount of time one may cast an absentee ballot and the number of days one can vote at satellite polling sites,[2] and he voted to require all voters to present a state-issued ID.[3] Though he voted for the measure, the bill was opposed by the Iowa State Association of Counties, an advocacy group for Iowa's disabled, and Iowa's Department on Aging opposed the bill.[4]
