Leave It to Beaver (season 6)

Wally asks his girlfriend out for a dinner date, but faces real money problems when she suggests they dine at an expensive new restaurant.

Beaver starts a conflict in the Cleaver household when he refuses to wear a coat and tie to a formal father-son football awards banquet, as all the boys had agreed they would only dress casual. Eventually Ward allows Beaver to wear casual attire to the banquet, and Beaver is embarrassed when they arrive and all the other boys are in coats and ties.

Wally starts taking driving lessons at high school and makes a lot of mistakes.

Beaver goes to the local newspaper after school to get a job as a paper boy, but another kid has beaten him to it. When the other kid turns out to be a girl and isn't doing a very good job, Beaver gets excited that she'll be fired, but then he learns that her brother was the one who had gotten the job then became ill, so she filled in to keep him from losing it.

Wally's girlfriend can't go out with him because she has to babysit her little sister, Susan, so she suggests taking their respective younger siblings with them.

Wally and Eddie get into trouble when Ward gets them a weekend job at the Mayfield Dairy, and they tell management that they saw other employees stealing from the company.

Beaver thinks he's being treated unfairly when his parents punish him for staying out too late, so Eddie convinces him to write to an advice columnist. However, the columnist sides with Beaver's parents, and all the parents of Beaver's friends start enforcing the same rules.

Eddie brags to his friends about his new bachelor pad and great social life, when in fact his rented room is drab and lonely, and he eats out of tin cans.

To teach Beaver the business of budgeting, Ward gives him an allowance to join a record club and receive monthly musical recordings.

When Ward and June go away for the weekend, Ward reluctantly gives Wally permission to borrow his new car to drive to a dance.

Shirley makes fun of Beaver's hair, saying he looks like a sheepdog.

Beaver lets fame go to his head when the local newspaper mentions him scoring the winning touchdown in his school's football game. He goes as far as cutting practice, feeling he doesn't need to be there; but he learns his lesson when the coach suspends him from the team for ditching.

Beaver finds it difficult to write his autobiography for school, so he gets his crush Betsy to do it for him, and she greatly exaggerates.

Wally talks Ward and June into letting him have a party and doesn't invite Beaver. To retaliate, Beaver sets up pranks, to sabotage the party, only for Wally to reconsider and invite Beaver.

When Julie Foster starts dating a new student with a moustache, Eddie suggests that she thinks Wally's immature.

Ward helps Wally pay the insurance on a used car, but Ward's offer has several strings attached that lead to complications.

Wally and Eddie are hired to park cars at a fancy social event to which Ward and June weren't invited.

Beaver gives a locket to his classmate Donna, but her father mails it back to Beaver, leading June to think Donna gave it to him.

Beaver allows a hobo named Mr. Jeff into the Cleaver home so he can wash up and eat a decent meal. The man steals Ward's suit.

When Wally's car breaks down, Eddie uses his dad's credit card to get it repaired, then Wally gives Eddie cash for the bill, but Eddie spends it on himself.

Beaver gets a job as a caddy and faces a dilemma when he sees a golfer cheating to win a $500 bet.

Friends and family gather to watch Beaver on TV, but are disappointed when he doesn't appear. It turns out, he had taken a quick bathroom run while at the studio, and missed an announcement that they were being taped in advance, and would not air until the following week.

Wally is attracted to the ticket taker at the local movie theater, so Eddie encourages him to ask her out. Beaver, however, discovers that she's probably not Wally's type.

Although Wally is disappointed he didn't getting the college scholarship he wanted, he throws a party for Lumpy, who got it instead. However, Lumpy ends up losing the scholarship because of a poor grade, much to his father's dismay. Ward feels sympathy for Lumpy and secretly convinces the college to reinstate the scholarship, provided Lumpy improves his grade.

Beaver ignores June for making him run an errand instead of letting him join Wally and Eddie and pays more attention to Ward.

Uncle Billy is in charge while Ward and June go on a trip and since he's more relaxed than them, Beaver takes advantage of him, by sneaking Gilbert into the theater at the movies. However when Uncle Billy finds out, Beaver's in for a rude awakening.

Beaver must make a tough choice when Aunt Martha offers to have him enrolled in a college prep school in New England.

Wally decides to go to his father's alma mater, State College, so Ward writes them a letter of recommendation for both Wally and Eddie. However, a college student tells them that their fraternity is terrible, making Eddie want to back out. It later turns out that the fraternity is wonderful and the student denouncing it had been kicked out for breaking the rules.

Eddie's girlfriend uses Wally as a model for knitting Eddie a sweater and they spend so much time together, their friends get suspicious.

Beaver procrastinates with his book report on The Three Musketeers, leaving him with little time to finish it. As the book is more boring than he expected, he finds himself watching a silly Three Musketeers farce on TV, and presenting the humorous details of what he saw, in his report. However, Mrs. Rayburn isn't fooled and gives him two additional reports to write to teach him a lesson.

Ward receives two tickets to a baseball game and must choose one of his sons to take with him. He chooses Wally because Beaver already has other plans for the night, but then those plans fall through. Beaver eventually causes Wally to feel guilty and to surrender his ticket, but when Beaver goes with his dad, he can't enjoy the game because of his own guilt.

Beaver accepts an invitation from Peggy to the graduation dance, then receives one from Melinda, the girl he actually wants to go with, which he also accepts. In his delay to clear things up, both girls find out, and reject him, leaving him with no date for the dance.

Eddie's uncle gets him a summer job on a fishing boat in Alaska and Eddie talks about it so much, it makes Wally and Lumpy want to join him.

In the last week before junior high school graduation, Beaver sneaks a peek at the diplomas but doesn't see his.

After Lumpy puts cherry bombs in their cars, Eddie and Wally retaliate, but it goes a bit too far.

Ward and June are reluctant to let Wally go to an all-night party and so are his date's parents.

Beaver is excited about traveling across America on busses for the summer - until he learns that Gilbert, during his absence, intends to make a move on a girl Beaver likes.

Beaver is given the "Good Citizen" award after he takes three of Ward's suits to the clothing drive at his school by accident.

June finds a dusty scrapbook while cleaning, so the Cleavers gather to look through it and remember all they've been through.
