Laotian parliamentary election, 1989

Parliamentary elections were held in Laos on 26 March 1989, the first since 1972.[1] A total of 121 candidates contested the 79 seats, of which around two-third were Lao People's Revolutionary Party members. The LPRP emerged victorious, winning 65 seats.[2] Voter turnout was reported to be 98.4%.[1]
