Laxmipur is a former town and Village Development Committee in Ilam District in the Mechi Zone of eastern Nepal. With the ongoing political reformation of the country after being official federal democratic republic, Laxmipur is merged with Suryodaya Municipality since Feb. 2017, together with some other villages of eastern Ilam. Previously Laxmipur-1,2,4,8 now became Suryodaya-14 and Laxmipur 3-6-7-9 now became Suryodaya-13.
At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 6,901 people living in 1198 individual households.[1]
