The Lakehead University Student Union (also known as LUSU) is the student government representing undergraduate students at Lakehead University. LUSU has offices in Thunder Bay as well as in Orillia.

Governance

The highest governing body of LUSU is the Board of Directors, composed of 16 elected students as well as the members of the executive. LUSU has 4 executive members: the President, the VP Operations & Finance, the VP Advocacy and the VP Orillia. The union also hold annual general meetings.

Elections

LUSU holds elections every year in February. LUSU uses online voting.[1]

Services & Businesses

LUSU operates 6 service centres: the Aboriginal Awareness Centre, the Gender Equity Centre, the Sustainability Initiative, the Food Bank, Pride Central and the Multicultural Centre.[2] LUSU also provides a UPass and a health insurance plan.

LUSU also owns two businesses: The Outpost and The Study Coffeehouse. The Outpost was opened in 1991, and is currently one of the largest campus bars in Canada.[3]
