Lake Butrinti (Albanian: Liqeni i Butrintit, formerly known as Lake Vivari or Lake Vatzindro[1] (or Vutzintró[2]), lies in the south of Albania in Saranda. It is in fact a lagoon. It overlooks the Ionian Sea and it is quite large in size. Next to it is the ancient site of Buthrotum (modern Butrinti in Albanian), which contains Ancient Greek and Roman antiquities and is one of the most popular tourist attraction in Albania.
