Lajos Engler (Serbian Cyrillic: Лајош Енглер), also credited as Lajoš Engler, is a Serbian retired basketball player.
Playing career
Engler played for his hometown team Proleter and Belgrade's team Partizan[1] from 1946 to 1960 in the Yugoslav Basketball League. During time with Proleter he won the National Championships.[2]
Yugoslavia national team
As a player for the Yugoslavia national basketball team Engler participated at two FIBA World Championships (1950[3] and 1954[4]) and two European Championships (1953 in Moscow and 1957[5] in Sofia). He played 79 games for the national team.
Career achievements and Awards
- Yugoslav League champion: 1 (with Proleter Zrenjanin: 1956).
- Lifetime Achievement Award, awarded by Zrenjanin City Sports Association (2017)[6]
