Lajbook is a union council of the Lower Dir District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.

Lower Dir District has 37 union councils with a population of 797,852, according to the 1998 census report. The population growth rate of the Lower Dir District was 3.42% per annum between the 1981 and 1998 censuses.

Lajbook is a beautiful valley sorrounded by green mountais. Its central town is called Lajbook Village from which the valley has got its name. The tomb of Akund Baba, who was the religious and spiritual leader of Akhund Khel tribe, is in the centre of the valley. A newly built three storied building of the mosque in the centre of the town adds extra beuty to it. The most famous villages of the valley are Kass, Ghvargay, Undesa, Garband, Landai, Behari, Darmal, Charingo and Banda. It can be accessed by road from Timergara from Haya Serei as well as from Ashari Gat.

         The weather of the valley is very pleasant. It witnesses heavy snowfalls in the winter mainly on its peaks while fresh wind blowing in every direction in the summer. Wheat and Maze are the two main crops cultivated in its fields. Fruits like peaches, apricots, pears, figs, nuts ets grow abundently here.
        A deep channel of water flow deep down in the centre of the valley generally called Galgut Kvar. The main source of drinking water in the valley are natural water springs.
       This valley is very backward in education and especially in women education. The whole valley contain only one middle school for women with four or five primary schools. There are three middle schools for boys at Ghvargay, Garband and Behari respectively while one one High school at Kas Kandao. The backwardness of the valley in education is very remarkable. The valley has no macadmised roads. 
     Besides diffulties in education, the inhabitants of the valley have a lot of health problems owing to the lack of facilities.There is only one hospital which suffers from the absence of doctors since its sanction.
     The whole valley would have been a good tourists' spot if it did not lack the basic facilities for visitors. A new hotel know as Sheen Ghar Hotel on the eastern hill-top has become vary famous among tourists for picnics.
