Léandre Gaël Tawamba Kana (born 20 December 1989), commonly referred to as Léandre Tawamba, is a Cameroonian footballer who currently plays for FK Partizan.

He is known for his great strength and good passing skills.

Club career

Early career

Léandre Tawamba started his professional career in Union Douala in 2009. One year later, he moved to Aigle Royal Menoua. In 2011, Tawamba joined National First Division side FC Cape Town. He also played in South Africa for the Mpumalanga Black Aces.

Nitra and Ružomberok

In summer 2012, he was on an unsuccessful trials in Slovak football clubs ŠK Slovan Bratislava and later at MFK Ružomberok. In winter 2013, he signed a contract with FC Nitra.[1] He made his professional debut for FC Nitra against Spartak Trnava on 2 March 2013.[2] He scored his first league goal against Zlaté Moravce in a 1–2 away win on 6 April 2013.[3]

In summer 2013, he left to another Slovak Corgoň Liga club, MFK Ružomberok.[4] He made his debut for MFK Ružomberok on 14 July 2013 and he netted a splendid equalizing goal in the stoppage time of the game, which arranged draw 2–2 against MŠK Žilina.[5] On 10 August 2013, Tawamba scored a twice in a 3–2 home victory over Spartak Trnava.[6] In the 2013–14 season Tawamba finished as second top-scorer with 13 goals from 31 matches.

Al-Ahly SC

In July 2014, Tawamba moved to Al-Ahly Benghazi.[7]

Zlaté Moravce

In August 2015, Tawamba moved to Zlaté Moravce.[8] On 15 August, he made his debut for Zlaté Moravce, scoring in a 2–2 home draw against Podbrezová. On 19 September, Tawamba scored a brace in a 5–2 loss to his former club Ružomberok. On 21 November, he scored a hat-trick in a 3–1 home win over MFK Skalica.[9] On 24 November 2015, Tawamba was named the Fortuna Liga Player of the Month for October.[10]

Kairat

On 1 April 2016, Tawamba signed for Kairat,[11] He made his debut in Kazakhstan Premier League on 3 April 2016 in a 2–1 defeat against Akzhayik.[12] On 5 May, he scored his first goal for Kairat in 2–0 home win over Zhetysu.[13] On 29 May, Tawamba scored an amazing back-heel goal in the stoppage time in 3–2 home win over Akzhayik.[14] On 7 July, he scored a goal in qualifying for UEFA Europa League in a 5–0 home win over Teuta Durrës.[15] Ten days later, Tawamba scored a brace in a 2–3 away win over Irtysh Pavlodar.[16]

On 28 October 2016, Tawamba terminated his contract with Kairat by mutual agreement.[17]

Partizan

On 26 November 2016, Tawamba signed a three year contract with Partizan.[18] He scored his first goal for Partizan in a 3–0 home win against Metalac on 8 March 2017.[19] On 18 April 2017, Tawamba scored a goal in the 3–1 eternal derby away win against Red Star Belgrade.[20] In his first campaign with Partizan, Tawamba helped the club win the double.[21]

On 22 July 2017, Tawamba scored a brace in 6–1 home win against Mačva Šabac.[22] Three days later, Tawamba scored a goal against Olympiacos in first leg of third qualifying round for UEFA Champions League.[23]
