Kwon Na-ra, known by her stage name Nara, is a South Korean singer and originating member of the South Korean girl group Hello Venus.[1] She also featured in the television series Suspicious Partner (2017).[2]
Career
Nara became an acting trainee for Fantagio Entertainment when she was in middle school.[3] She joined the girl group Hello Venus as a founding member where she went by the stage name "Nara". They debuted on May 9, 2012 with the mini-album Venus, which contained four tracks.[4] The single "Venus" reached number 35 on the Gaon chart.[5][6] In February, Nara starred with Kim Soo-hyun in 'Cass Fresh' CF, she was cast for a role in a 'youth culture' focused episode of the CF series.
Also last June 2012, Pledis Entertainment labelmates Nana and Hello Venus's Nara have participated in a 'twin pictorial' for InStyle magazine. On July 4, 2012, together with the group, they released "Like a Wave", off the digital album 'Like a Wave (Digital Repackage)'. On November 19, Pledis Entertainment said Hello Venus is to make a comeback mid-December as a full six-member group. On December 16, they made their comeback on Inkigayo with their 2nd mini album "What Are You Doing Today?".
Nara appeared as a cameo role as a stewardess on the 20th episode of the SBS drama “Take Care of Us, Captain" with fellow Hello Venus member, Yooyoung.[7][8]
On February 26, 2013, 9 months after their debut they hold their first fan meeting. They invited 200 fans for the event which lasted 2 and a half hours. Their fanmeeting tickets had been sold out completely as soon as they went on sale. They performed various songs including 'Venus', 'Like a Wave', and 'What Are You Doing Today?'.
Hello Venus' 3rd Mini-Album debuted at #6 on Gaon Chart's national physical albums ranking. The mini album sold about eight thousand copies for the month of May.
On August 1, she appeared on San E's music video of "Story of Someone I Know", playing San E's sexy therapist.[9]
