Kuduru is a place in the southern state of Karnataka, India.[1][2] It is located in the Magadi taluk of Ramanagara district in Karnataka. Kudur has mixed cultural influence from Hoysala Empire and Mysore Wadiyar dynasty.It is also called as Turagapuri prior to the name Kuduru.

Demographics

As of 2011 India Census, Kudur had a population of 9114 with 4568 males and 4546 females.[1] The location is accessible from Solur (around 18 km to Kudur) or from Marur handpost (around 5 km to Kudur). Both these locations lie right on NH 48 (Bangalore-Mangalore Highway).

Travel by KSRTC bus direct to Kudur from Bengaluru makes it convenient. Alternately any bus going towards Kunigal, Turuvekere, will stop at one of the above locations, from which there are Private bus services that can be leveraged to reach Kudur. Since the location is around 65 km from Bangalore driving down may be a good alternative, too. The roads leading to the location is good for the most part of it.

Kudur is a place, where horses were cared n used for wars during olden days. "Kudurammana Jatre" also known as " konda" is among the well known annual celebrations performed for the well being of the people of kudur. "Ramanavami Utsava" "Kuduru bettada jatre" and "Muttina pallakki" are also few notable annual celebration in the village. Village has numerous temples like Kuduramma(Lakshmi), Gavi Gangadareshwara (antara gange),Pete Anjaneya Swamy Temple, Grama devathe, Narasimha swamy, Ranganatha swamy, Vasavi and many notable temples.

Being a hobali under development, it has sufficient facilities within. The village has a distinction due to the presence of rocky hill called "kuduru Betta or Bhairedevara Betta". Previously village had small pond known as Kuduru kere. Agriculture, weaving silk saree - (both hand and power looms), sericulture and shops are transforming the place as a commercial hub for many smaller villages around. The place possess medicals, theatre, banks, hospital, colleges including Government Degree College, Ramaleela Stadium, YNV ground and a marketplace.

1. Savanadurga Hill just 33 km - the place is known for its picturesque nature, hill and Narasimhaswamy temple amidst. 2. Shivaganga hill just 17 km - known for the rocky hill and shankara sansthanam or sharada peetam. 3. Magadi just 30 km - known for Ranganatha Swamy temple, its annual celebrations 4. Kunigal just 19 km - has stead farm 5. Tumkur, is 30 km - a district and an educational hub.
