Ksar Hadada (Arabic: قصر حدادة) is a ksar in southeastern Tunisia. Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace was filmed here.[1][2][3][4] The population at the last census was 1298.[5] ]][6] It s located at 33° 06′ 00″ N, 10° 18′ 50″ E.

Ksar Hadada is a ksar in southeastern Tunisia. Along with two other ksar's around Tataouine, Ksar Hadada was filmed for Mos Espa's Slave Quarters in the Star Wars film: Episode I The Phantom Menace.

The Arabic spelling is: كصر حدادة. Sometimes it is spelled "Ksar Hedada". Ksar Hadada is surrounded by a mountain range. The village is also home to a valley between 25 and 50 meters deep called Gattar.

Several fossils have been found in and around the village.

Climate

The climate is semi-arid, the Sahara being about fifty kilometers, and rain is rare but abundant when it appears. Temperatures can reach 48 °C during the day in summer and go down to 0 °C during the night in winter.

Architecture and town planning

A mosque was built in the 1950s. There are also two cafés, a post office, a library, a football stadium and a dozen shops. The village has a kindergarten and a primary school. On the other hand, the ksar does not have a college or a high school, but special links are in place to connect the village with the two colleges and the two high schools of the town of Ghomrassen.
