Koujalagi is one of the Village in Gokak Taluk , Belgaum District , Karnataka State . Koujalagi is located 43 km distance from its District Main City Belgaum . It is located 464 km distance from its State Main City Bangalore . koujalagi is a historical village which has the known history about six hundred years,was ruled by Desai`s of koujalagi.These desai``s are the distant relatives of vijayanagara rulers,they came to this village in around 15th century.the prominent and popular among them was the sardar Bheemappa desai. the man who carried out many constructing works like maruti temple,wells for drinking water, library,school etc.., koujalagi has got rich cultural histoy, Sri Krishna Parijata a famous folkdrama,dollina padas etc..,are quit famous here.

Famous personalities from the vilage are noted kannada writer Professor K G Kundanagar, Parijata artist Ningamma and Dr.Ashok Dalwai, an IAS officer.
