Kodumunda (Malayalam കൊടുമുണ്ട) is a small villege in Muthuthala and Parudur gramapanchayath,Pattambi Taluk,Palakkad district Kerala.It is one of the important trading center in Muthuthala panchayath.The portions of Kodumunda in Parudur panchayath called west kodumunda.The only railway station in Muthuthala is situated in Kodumunda.Muthassiyarkavu is one of the important temple in Kodumunda.Muthassiyarkavu thalapoli and Kodumunda nercha are the famous festivels
Twin village
Kodumunda is a twin village consisting of two portions. One portion is known as Kodumunda which is in Muthuthala panchayath and the other portion is known as West Kodumunda (also as Padinhare Kodumunda) which is in Parudur panchayath.The portions are divided by the Railwayline. The infrastructures are divided between the two portions.Eventhough, Mele Kodumunda and Thazhe Kodumunda (in Muthuthala Panchayath) are the important centers.The East part of Kodumunda is situated in Pattambi assembly constituency and Palakkad Losabha constituency.But West Kodumunda is in Thrithala under Ponnani Loksabha constituency

Waterways
There had been a trade link passing through the River Bharathapuzha. Varantakuttikkatavu was a ferry point which was connecting Thrithala,the local market place and Kodumunda.now there is no water transportation available by the coming of new roads.About fifteen years back small boats and rafts are a major scene of this area.
Road
The village, located 5 km from Pattambi on the Pattambi-Pallippuram Road, and can be reached by road and rail.
Rail
Kodumunda is the only railway station in Muthuthala, which is en route to Kozhikode on the Shoranur–Kozhikode railway line. Only a few passenger trains halt at this station, so the preferable means to reach Kodumunda is by road. Pattambi is the main railway station nearby where most of the trains do have a stopping.
