Kishore Lulla is the Chairman of EROS International Plc, the first Indian M&E company listed on NYSE stock exchange and a board member for the School of Film at the University of California, Los Angeles with over 30 years of experience in the media and entertainment industry.[1][2][3][4][5]

Lulla is a member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and Young Presidents’ Organization. He is the Director of Eros International Ltd. since April 11, 2006. He is also the Executive Director of Eros International Media Limited since the year of September 28, 2009, the company listed in BSE as well as NSE stock exchanges. He was the Director at Eros International Plc since 2005 and Executive Chairman since January 2010.[1][6][7]

Early life

Lulla attended the School of Business and Law at the Government & Law College, Mumbai.[1] He received a bachelor's degree in arts from Mumbai University.[3]

Career

As Executive Chairman of the Eros Group, Kishore Lulla has worked for the growth of Eros International and expanded the brand’s presence in United States, UK, Australia, Dubai, Fiji and other international markets.[2] Kishore, started working for Eros when he was 16. He teamed with his father and went to UK to expand the business of the Company internationally.[8] He has expanded and popularized Bollywood films in U.K. U.S. and the Middle East and have entered newer markets like Latin America, South Korea and Central America under Lulla Bollywood films.[9]

He is the founder of Bollywood For You (B4U), that is recognized as India's biggest global network of Hindi movies and music.[10] He co-founded Eros International Ltd, in London in 1988. He has been instrumental in the launch of the UK’s first 24- hour Bollywood digital satellite and pay TV channel on the BSkyB platform.[6]

As per The Sunday Times rich list released in 2011, Kishore Lulla was among the richest Indian with a net worth of 240 million pounds and with a family fortune of 206 million pounds.[11] In 2015, Kishore Lulla was also part of the exclusive Sun Valley Conference, organised by the New York-based investment bank, Allen & Co. This event gathers world's most powerful entrepreneurs and business executives.[12]

In 2010, Kishore Lulla and his family set up the Eros Foundation for the education of children in the poorest regions of India. The Foundation offers teaching and support for the poor people.[1] He has tried to bring 250 million children out of poverty with his educational initiatives. Lulla has also worked to bring equality among women in workplace.[13]

Awards

Kishore Lulla has been honoured at the Asian Business Awards 2007 and the Indian Film Academy Awards 2007 for his contribution in entertainment industry by taking Indian films globally. He was awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year at the GG2 Leadership & Diversity Awards in 2010. Forbes Asia featured Kishore Lulla on the list of Best under a Billion in the year of 2014. In the same year he was awarded Global Citizenship Award by the American Jewish Committee, a leading global Jewish advocacy organization.[14] Kishore Lulla was honoured with the Entertainment Visionary Award at the 2015 Annual Gala Dinner that was arranged by the Asia Society of Southern California for his efforts and contribution in taking Indian cinema to the global platform.[13][15][1][16][17][18][19]
