Kingdom of Wala

The Kingdom of Wala was a polity in what is today Ghana based around Wa, Ghana. Accroding to some traditions it had an iman as early as 1317.

As of the early 1890s Wala was largely west of the Kulpawn River. Its eastern boundary was the Black Volta. The north-east corner of the territory was at Dasima, Ghana while the south-west was Tantama.

In 1894 a rebellion occured in the northern part of the Kingdom of Wala, and this area seperated off into an independent kingdom.
