Kim Kyong-hwa (Korean pronunciation: [kim.ɡjʌŋ.ɦwa]; born March 28, 1986) is a North Korean football (soccer) player who can play as either midfielder or forward. Her club team is 4.25 Sports Team and she is an established international player.
Hwa began her international career for the Korea DPR in 2004, when she played in the U-20 World Cup in Russia. There, she started every match as the team went on to win the tournament, defeating China 5–0 in the final.[1] Her success in this tournament led to her being picked for the senior national team at the 2007 World Cup, where the Korea DPR exited in the quarter-finals. Her second major tournament with the national squad was the 2008 Summer Olympics, an event where she scored the winning goal in the team's first match against Nigeria.[1]
