Kim Jung-ah (born August 2, 1983), better known by the mononym Jung Ah or Jung A, is a South Korean singer. She was a member of Kiss Five and graduated member of After School. In 2016, Pledis Entertainment announced that her contract had expired and she had graduated from After School naturally.[1]
Career
Kim debuted with After School's unofficial first appearance on December 29, 2008 at the SBS Song Festival, performing "Play Girlz" with Son Dambi and Kahi. In the beginning on 2009, a few days before After School's debut, the group released their debut single, "AH!" alongside their EP, New Schoolgirl on 15 January. On 17 January, she and After School made their live debut on MBC's, Music Core.[2]
JungAh became Leader,[3] [4] Main Vocalist, and Lead Dancer in the group after Leader Kahi's graduation.[5][6]
On September 2012, it was announced that JungAh has been cast[7][8] into MBC Every1's drama Reckless Family 2.
On April 7, 2015, Pledis Entertainment announced that JungAh and labelmate Han Dong Geun would be releasing a duet entitled "Between the Two of Us" on April 16.[9][10][11]
On January 28, 2016, JungAh's contract with Pledis Entertainment expired and she graduated from After School after seven years of activity.[12][13][14]
On May 25, 2016, JungAh announced she will debut as a solo artist with a new album in June,[15][16] featuring rapper J-STAR.
In February of 2017, it was announced that Jungah would be appearing on the upcoming Mnet Drama The Idolmaster KR as a famous singer who evaluates trainees' abilities. The series also stars former band mate Lee Kaeun of After School, Han Hye-ri of Produce 101 and I.B.I, Jo Sojin of Nine Muses (band) and Ari of Tahiti (band).
