On January 28, 2016, JungAh's contract with Pledis Entertainment expired and she graduated from After School after seven years of activity.[12][13][14]

On May 25, 2016, JungAh announced she will debut as a solo artist with a new album in June,[15][16] featuring rapper J-STAR.

In February of 2017, it was announced that Jungah would be appearing on the upcoming Mnet Drama The Idolmaster KR as a famous singer who evaluates trainees' abilities.
