Khoune is a district (muang) of Xiangkhouang Province in north-central Laos.[1] It is southeast of Phonsavan, the capital of Xiengkhouang. Khoun District has four main ethnic groups: Lao, Hmong, Khmu, and O Du. Khoune is the old capital of Xiengkhouang called Xiengkhuang Kao.
