Keysi Mairín Sayago Arrechedera (born October 6, 1993) is a Venezuelan model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss Venezuela 2016. She represented the state of Monagas at the pageant and will represent Venezuela in Miss Universe 2017.[3]

Personal life

Sayago enjoys reading, outdoor activities, animals, cooking and studying. She is a Mechanical Engineer of National Experimental University of the Armed Forces in Los Teques, Miranda where she lives. She is a dedicated, spontaneous and responsible woman. For her, being a Miss means to be a comprehensive, healthy, friendly and dedicated to each activity, a worthy representative of her country, even though it comes from a humble family and low-income. Keysi is the third Afro-Venezuelan women to win the Miss Venezuela title in the history.[4]

Pageantry

Miss Venezuela 2016

Sayago was among the three women pre-selected during the Miss Miranda casting. The other two were Maria Victoria D'Ambrosio and Rosangelica Piscitelli.

During the official Sashing Ceremonies, D'Ambrosio and Piscitelli were assigned as Miss Guarico and Miranda, respectively. Meanwhile, Sayago was assigned as Miss Monagas. D'Ambrosio ended up in the Top 10 while Piscitelli, despite winning several awards, placed fifth (fourth runner-up).

Sayago who stands 1.80 (5 ft 11 in), competed as Miss Monagas 2016, one of 24 finalists in her country's national beauty pageant, she obtained the Miss Attitude and Most Beautiful Smile awards at the Interactive Beauty Gala, which was the preliminary of Miss Venezuela 2016, which was held on October 6, 2016 in Caracas, where she became the second Miss Venezuela winner from Monagas, gaining the right to represent her country in Miss Universe 2017.[5]

Miss Universe 2017

Sayago will represent Venezuela at Miss Universe 2017 where Iris Mittenaere of France will crown her successor at the end of the event.[6]
