Route description

KY 3523 originates at a junction with US 127 on the east side of Monterey and travels southwest passing a few homes. As it nears Cedar Creek it curves toward the northwest and passes over the creek. Northwest of Cedar Creek KY 3523 passes by multiple homes and side streets before curving toward the northeast and passing through a wooded area. A bit further northeast KY 3523 passes by a few more homes before terminating at a junction with KY 355 just west of US 127.

In 1937, modern day KY 3523 was a part of KY 35, which later became US 127.[3] In 1992 the route was still a part of US 127.[2] By 2003, US 127 had been rerouted to the east of Monterey and the current route was signed as KY 3523.[4]
