Route description

KY 3172 follows an old alignment of the concurrently running US 68/KY 80 from South Union to Petros, beginning with a junction with KY 73 and ending with the intersection with KY 240 about 0.3 miles (0.48 km) after crossing the Warren County line.[2]

KY 3172 provides travelers access to the Shaker Museum at South Union.[3] That attraction is one of two Shaker-related points of interests in Kentucky, the other being the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, along US 68 in eastern Mercer County.
