Kenny Schrub, (born May 19, 1995) known by the handle kennyS, is a French professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player currently playing for G2 Esports. Since the game's release he has widely been considered to be the best, or at least one of the best, snipers in CS:GO by fellow professional players, experts, analysts, and commentators alike. He was named "eSports Player of the Year" at The Game Awards 2015.[1] He was considered the very best sniper in the game prior to a change to the weapon's mobility, and by one analyst to have been the very best player in the game prior to that change.[2] Some of his previous teams include Team eXtensive!, Titan, VeryGames, Team LDLC.com, WARMAKER, WE GOT GAME, Recursive eSports, and Clan-Mystik. He was a professional Counter-Strike: Source player before transitioning to CS:GO in 2012.

Career

Kenny started his Counter-Strike Career back in France, as stated in his Valve Player profile.[3] Kenny has been playing Counter-Strike since the age of 6, the game has been introduced to him by his brother and it all started when Kenny played on his brothers computer. Kenny had an enjoyment of Counter-Strike and it was his top escape, as stated by his mother they had a lot of family issues and since he was enjoying it was the world where he could get out of all the problems. He started Counter-Strike: Source and eventually transitioned to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in 2012. Due to his skill and recognition he was eventually invited to tournaments in Arles, eventually he did not win many matches but it was a start to his career, that is when his parents eventually understood he would become famous in the gaming and eSports community. Him and his brothers have a 10-year difference, at the age of 8 he was already at a greater skill level then his brothers, at age 11 they decided to do a local tournament and they eventually won. That is when his brother pushed him to achieve his dream to become a professional Counter-Strike player. During the tournaments Kenny got to play with the best Counter Strike players in France and eventually he got to show his skill to the world and eventually, he got invited to join VeryGames. However, due to his inexperience, he was removed from the team. After getting kicked from VeryGames, Kenny then pushed himself to improve and get better at Counter-Strike.

2015

Titan placed 13-16th at ESL One Katowice 2015 in March. On July 20, 2015 kennyS and Dan "apEX" Madesclaire were traded to Team EnVyUs in exchange for Richard "shox" Papillon and Edouard "SmithZz" Dubourdeaux.[4][5] The next month in August, EnVyUs got second place at the second Major, ESL One Cologne 2015. At the third and final Major of 2015, DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015, kennyS and EnVyUs won the tournament after beating Natus Vincere in the finals. He also did very well in ESL One Cologne 2016, although EnVyUs finished 13th – 16th.[6] At the 2015 Game Award kennyS had the Player of the Year award. He outvoted Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok from League of Legends, (LOL),Olof Kajber "Olofmeister" from Fnatic in CS:GO, and Peter Dager "Ppd" from DOTA 2.

2016

EnVyUs (eSports) Placed 1st in Global eSports Cup-Season 1, initiating the year 2016 magnificently, with a prize of $80000. Later in the year, they had placed 5-8th in the ELEAGUE Season 1 winning a prize which totaled $50000 considering the minor placing. On 9/25, KennyS and his team had won GFINITY CS:GO INVITATIONAL sweeping MouseSports in the finals in a Best of 5, demonstrating their prestige.

2017

On February 3, 2017, kennyS joined G2 Esports as part of the 3rd French Shuffle to form the so-called 'French Superteam' consisting of Richard 'shox' Papillon, Kenny 'kennyS' Schrub, Nathan 'NBK Schmitt, Dan 'apEX' Madesclaire and Alexandre 'bodyy' Pianaro with Edouard "SmithZz" Dubourdeaux as the ex-AWPer and current coach. He was happy to be in parts with the G2 eSports organization. He started very well as a G2 player and his future remains unknown. G2 Esports went on to win the 2017 ESL Pro League Season 5 Tournament making it the first win for the French 'Superteam'.
