Ken Bastida (born December 30, 1956)[1] is a California news anchor on Channel 5 (KPIX), a CBS affiliate. He has been a reporter with the station since 1990. Bastida began his career as a Bay Area radio host in 1978. Since then he has held on air positions at Bay Area radio stations KFRC, KGO, KMEL, K101, KFYI and KCBS radio. For a time Bastida even hosted his own landscaping show on HGTV called Landscape Smart. Bastida holds a degree in Broadcast Communication Arts from San Francisco State University and was inducted into the University's Hall of Fame in May 2008.
Bastida was the recipient of a 2004 Emmy Award for outstanding achievement in continuing coverage for his series "Inside the Middle East."
