Kelly Mac
Kelly Mac is the Program Director & Afternoon Show Host for 106.7 WTLC-FM & also PD for 1310 The Light WTLC-AM.
She relocated to Indianapolis in November of 2016 from WJMZ in Greenville, SC where she served as a top rated On Air Personality from 2013 until November 2016.
Mac's career includes Chicago where she served as the midday host at WVAZ & APD for WGCI. Prior to Chicago, Kelly was a radio personality & Assistant Program Director/Music Director in Philadelphia at WUSL and WDAS-FM from 2011-2013. She was recruited from Greenville, SC where she also served as the Assistant Program Director & a top rated On Air Personality at WJMZ-FM from 2006-2011.
In 2010, Mac was honored by the National Association of Broadcasters with the Marconi award for Radio Personality of the Year.[1]
Career
In 1999, Kelly Mac started off in radio as a part-time receptionist for Radio One, Inc. With time and hard work, she was later promoted to Programming Assistant for WZAK-FM & WENZ-FM in her hometown; Cleveland, OH. Her diligent work, dedication & perseverance eventually led to her dream to become an on air personality.
Mac later relocated to Charleston, SC as the Assistant Program Director, Music Director & Afternoon Show Host for WWBZ. After a year, WWBZ changed formats so in May 2004, Kelly joined Charleston's legendary station, WWWZ-FM as the Night Show Host, where after 2 books, she achieved record Arbitron Ratings of 30+ shares in her targeted demo (18-34).
After spending two years in the Charleston, SC Market, K-Mac moved to the Gulf Coast to co-host mornings at WBLX-FM in Mobile, Alabama. While co-hosting "The Official Gulf-Coast Wake-Up Party," Kelly was a key factor in maintaining #1 ratings for the show
During her successful run at WBLX-FM, Kelly was recruited to WJMZ-FM, Greenville, SC where she served as APD/MD/On Air Personality for nearly five years. Kelly Mac set record numbers at WJMZ & received many prestigious awards.
In 2007 WJMZ was awarded the R&R Medium Market Station of the Year and in 2008, Mac was named the R&R "Medium Market On Air Personality of the Year." In 2009, JAMZ was awarded the NAB Marconi Award for "Urban Station of the Year" and the South Carolina Broadcasters Association recognized Mac as South Carolina's "On Air Personality of the Year" and"Radio Show of the Year." In September, the NAB named Kelly as the 2010 Marconi Recipient for "Medium Market On Air Personality."
During her second tenure at WJMZ Mac was awarded the SCBA "Radio Show of the Year" in 2014 & she's been featured in various local, regional publications like Parents (magazine), LINK Magazine & The Greenville News to name a few.
Kelly's top 3 favorite interviews were with Mary J. Blige, Michelle Obama & her most favorite was a sit down with President Obama. Her long term goal is to host a TV Show & also open up a group home. She enjoys family time, traveling, cooking, swimming, shooting pool & a variety of music. She also takes pride in helping out in the community and with Little League Baseball Teams. In addition she's an advocate for speaking to teens about pregnancy prevention & the importance of staying in school.
