Stephen Gavin Alemais (born April 12, 1995) is an American professional baseball Shortstop for the West Virginia Power of Minor League Baseball. He earned American Athletic Conference all-first team honors in 2016, and was selected in the third round of the 2016 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates with the 105th overall pick.

Alemais was born in the Bronx, New York and attended All Hallows High School. He earned all-state honors in his junior and senior years, and all-district, all-city, and all-league honors in his sophomore, junior, and senior year. He currently holds the schools' single season hit record^[1]

He was selected in the third round of the 2016 draft by the Pittsburg Pirates out of Tulane University and joined the teams' low-A affiliate, the West Virginia Black Bears after being drafted. He was later promoted to the teams' single-A affiliate the West Virginia Power^[2] Alemais finished the 2016 season with a .249 batting average, 1 home run, and 20 RBI's.^[3]

Alemais is listed as 6 feet 0 inches (1.83 m) and 190 pounds (86 kg). He has been described as a "defense first" shortstop, and has drawn slight player comparisons to Jean Segura^[4]

Barrett Alexander Barnes (born July 29, 1991) is an American professional baseball outfielder in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Barnes played college baseball at Texas Tech University. After his junior year, he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the first round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft.^[5] He signed with the Pirates and made his professional debut with the State College Spikes. He spent 2013 with the West Virginia Power, 2014 with the Gulf Coast Pirates, West Virginia and Bradenton Marauders and 2015 with Bradenton and Altoona Curve. Barnes missed numerous games from 2013 to 2015 due to injuries.^[6][7] Barnes played 124 games in 2016, where he compiled a .306 batting average, 9 home runs, and 47 RBI's.^[8]

Tyler Austin Eppler (born January 5, 1993) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Eppler attended Navasota High School in Navasota, Texas and played college baseball at Texarkana College and Sam Houston State University.^[9] He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the sixth round of the 2014 Major League Baseball Draft.^[10]

Eppler made his professional debut with the Jamestown Jammers.^[11] He played 2015 with the Bradenton Marauders and Altoona Curve. After the season he played in the Arizona Fall League. He played 2016 with Altoona and started 2017 with the Indianapolis Indians.^[12]

Ke'Bryan Kobe Hayes (born January 28, 1997) is a third baseman in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. He was drafted by the Pirates out of Concordia Lutheran High School in the 1st round of the 2015 MLB draft. He is the son of Charlie Hayes.^[13] Hayes spent 2015 with both the GCL Pirates and the West Virginia Black Bears, where he hit .308 with 20 RBI's. Hayes spent 2016 with the West Virginia Power where he compiled a .263 average, 6 home runs, and 37 RBI's.^[14]

Taylor Hearn

Taylor Lynn Hearn (born August 30, 1994) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Hearn attended Royse City High School in Royse City, Texas. After his senior year he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 22nd round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft. He did not sign and attended San Jacinto College to play college baseball. He was then drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 36th round of the 2013 MLB Draft, but did not sign and returned to San Jacinto. The next year he was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in 25th round of the 2014 MLB Draft. He again did not sign and transferred to Oklahoma Baptist University. After one year at Oklahoma Baptist, he was drafted by the Washington Nationals in the fifth round of the 2015 MLB Draft and signed.^[15][16] Hearn spent 2015 with the both the GCL Nationals and the Auburn Doubledays, where he posted a 3.56 ERA in 48 innings pitched.

On July 30, 2016, the Nationals traded Hearn along with Felipe Rivero to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Mark Melancon.^[17]

Luis Eduardo Heredia Orozco (born August 10, 1994) is a Mexican professional baseball pitcher in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

The Pirates signed Heredia in August 2010 for a $2,600,000 signing bonus.^[18] Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus ranked Heredia the 81st best prospect in baseball prior to the 2011 season.^[19] Heredia made his pro debut on June 21, 2011, for the Gulf Coast League Pirates.^[20] Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus ranked Heredia the 42nd best prospect in baseball prior to the 2012 season.^[21] He spent the 2012 season with the State College Spikes. Prior to the 2013 season, Heredia was ranked as the 78th best prospect in baseball by Baseball America.^[22]

Clayton W. Holmes (born March 27, 1993) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Holmes was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the ninth round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft out of Slocomb High School in Slocomb, Alabama.^[23] He underwent Tommy John Surgery in 2014 and missed the season.^[24] The Pirates added him to their 40-man roster after the 2016 season.^[25]

Mitch Thomas Keller (born April 4, 1996) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Keller was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the second round of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft out of Xavier High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.^[26] He made his professional debut with the Gulf Coast Pirates.^[27] Keller spent 2015 with the Bristol Pirates and started 2016 with the West Virginia Power.^[28][29] He finished 2016 with a 9–5 record and 2.35 ERA.^[30]

His brother, Jon Keller, plays in the Baltimore Orioles organization.^[31]

Nick Gordon Kingham (born November 8, 1991) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Kingham was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the fourth round of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft out of Sierra Vista High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.^[32]

Kingham started the 2013 season with the High-A Bradenton Marauders and was promoted to Double-A Altoona Curve during the season.^[33] Kinghan was added to the 40-man roster on November 20, 2014.^[34]

Kevin Kramer

Kevin Lowell Kramer (born October 3, 1993) is an American professional baseball second baseman in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Kramer attended Turlock High School in Turlock, California. He was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 25th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft, but did not sign and attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he played college baseball for the Bruins.^[35][36] After his junior year, he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the second round of the 2015 MLB Draft.^[37]

Kramer made his professional debut with the West Virginia Black Bears and was promoted to the West Virginia Power during the season. He played 2016 with the Bradenton Marauders and started 2017 with the Altoona Curve.^[38][39]

Wyatt Mathisen

Wyatt Lane Mathisen (born December 30, 1993) is a professional baseball player in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Mathisen attended Calallen High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. As a junior at Calallen, Mathisen was named to the All-State Tournament team, a District 31-4A MVP, a Max Prep All-American, a Perfect Game USA All-American, a USSSA All-American, a member of the USSSA 18u National team which competed internationally, the South Texas Player-of-the-Year and was a member of the Texas Rangers Area Code team. As a senior at Calallen, Mathisen hit .433 with 13 home runs and 40 RBI.^[40] Mathisen was drafted by the Pirates in the 2nd Round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft. Mathisen played shortstop in high school, but was drafted as a catcher. Mathisen broke a commitment to the University of Texas ^[41] by signing with the Pirates for a $746,300 signing bonus.^[42] In June 2012, Mathisen started his pro career with the Gulf Coast League Pirates. Prior to the 2014 season, Mathisen was converted from a catcher to a third baseman.^[43]

Ángel Sánchez

Ángel Luis Sánchez (born November 28, 1989) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher in Minor League Baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates' organization.

He signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers as an amateur free agent in 2010 and played with the Great Lakes Loons in the Midwest League in 2011, where he was 8–4 in 20 games (16 starts) with a 2.82 ERA. He was promoted to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in 2012 where he struggled a bit, going 6–12 with a 6.58 ERA in 27 games (23 starts).

Sánchez returned to Great Lakes to start 2013 where he was 2–7 with a 4.88 ERA in 14 starts before he was returned to Rancho Cucamonga.

On July 6, 2013, he was traded to the Miami Marlins (along with Josh Wall and Steve Ames) for Ricky Nolasco. He was added to the Marlins 40-man roster on November 20, 2013.^[44]

The Tampa Bay Rays claimed Sánchez off waivers on June 13, 2014, and optioned him to the Double-A Montgomery Biscuits. He was designated for assignment on June 30. He was claimed off waivers by the Chicago White Sox on July 2, and optioned to the High-A Winston-Salem Dash.
