Koratla is a town in the Jagtial district of the Indian state of Telangana.[4]

Geography

Koratla is located at 18°49′17″N 78°42′43″E / 18.8215°N 78.7119°E / 18.8215; 78.7119 and at an altitude of 287 m (942 ft).[2] The village is spread over an area of 22.79 km2 (8.80 sq mi).[3]

Demographics

As of the 2001 Indian census,[5] Koratla had a population of 54,121, 50% male and 50% female. Koratla had an average literacy rate of 60%, approximately equal to the national average of 59.5%. Male literacy is 69%, and female literacy is 51%. 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Koratla Municipality was constituted in 1988 and is classified as a second grade municipality with 13 election wards.It is in Metpally revenue division The jurisdiction of the civic body is spread over an area of 22.96 km2 (8.86 sq mi).[1]
