The Kapor Center for Social Impact[1] is an Oakland-based organization that pursues creative strategies to help diversify the tech and entrepreneurial ecosystem.[2] It is part of the Kapor family of organizations aimed at "removing barriers to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education and tech careers for underrepresented people of color",[3] and making Oakland "the epicenter of social impact startups developing tech-based solutions to real world problems",[4] ultimately promoting a more accessible, inclusive, and diverse tech economy.

The Kapor Center for Social Impact is currently co-chaired by Mitch Kapor and Freada Kapor Klein.

Activities

In April 2016, the Kapor Center for Social Impact inaugurated a new building in uptown Oakland, serving as a "convening space for the region's tech and social justice communities."[5][6]
