Kamal Akhtar or Kamaal Akhtar or Kamaal Akhtar Tyagi (born 24 October 1971) is the Panchayati Raj Minister of Uttar Pradesh along with Member of Legislative Assembly and a politician from Samajwadi Party as well as a former Member of the Parliament of India representing Uttar Pradesh in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament. He belongs to Ujhari, Jyotiba Phule Nagar District. He remained the national president of the SP Yuvjan Sabha.

He lost his seat in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly election to Mahender Singh Kadakhvashi of the Bharatiya Janata Party.[1]

Personal life

Kamaal Akhtar was born to Nafeesuddin Ahmad and Mahajabin in Ujhari. He did B.A. (Hons.) in Economics and LL.B. from Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi. His wife Humara Akhter was samajwadi party lok sabha candidate of Amroha in 16th lok sabha election.
