Kalinin Square, Minsk
Kalinin Square (Belarusian:Плошчы Калініна, Мінск) is the 5th square on the Independence Avenue of Minsk.[1] The square was named to honor the Soviet Head of State Mikhail Kalinin.[2] There is a monument to Kalinin on the square which was installed in 1978[3], as well as the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The square was developed in 1953 and was designed by architect George Sysoev.
